Acapulco never sleeps!

If you visit México…

Acapulco Never Sleeps!

By Giancarlo Escobar B.

There are five miles of beaches along the bay of Acapulco. At the end of 1940´s, the Aleman administration built the coastal boulevard that connects the entire bay beginning at the beaches of Caleta and Caletilla, both very popular in the traditional Acapulco side. Glass bottom boots to see bear drinking goats in the Roqueta Island nearby can be boarded from these beaches. Once there the salty, warm, seductive air invites the visitors to try a coconut with gin, and lay on the warm beach, or on hammock under the shade. Other nearby beaches include, Playa Manzanillo and Playa Tlacopanocha. The oldest in Acapulco, where one can still find fishermen at dawn casting for the catch of the day.

La Quebarada, a 150-foot clift with a vertical drop into on inlet surrounded by many points of observation including panoramic restaurants, it’s the world famous place where since 1935 every day-local divers risk night carrying spectacular torches-local divers risk their lives diving out swan-like from the top of the rock to catch the surf and avoid catastrophe, as part of the experience that makes visiting Acapulco so special.

This is also the older part of town, where hotels, restaurants, and buildings offer a diferent atmosphere and reflect the glitz of a bygone era. Acapulco has it all.
